The refreshed Gwent is almost around the corner. Game creators, CD Projekt RED studio, plans to release a huge update called “Homecoming” on October 23. Although, CCG will come to PC owners first and appear on consoles in a month and a half – October 4.
“Homecoming” brings tons of significant changes: starting with user interface and up to card mechanics and battlefields. Faction leaders will turn into complete characters who will partake in battle, while the heroes will become more grim and true-to-life in order to bring them in line with The Witcher 3 atmosphere.
The devs also posted a video dedicated to the update, where they demonstrated several faction leaders, covered how new animations are made and shared one interesting fact: game creators played some of the characters.
At the same time with “Homecoming”, the company releases “Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales” – a standalone story game project with CCG elements set in “The Witcher” universe. CD Projekt RED promise that story of The Queen Meve will last for 30 play hours.
