Brazilian esports organization, FURIA Esports, has announced that coach Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira will stand-in for the team as a replacement for Henrique "HEN1" Teles at cs_summit 5. FURIA will face Virtus.pro in their first match.
HEN1 will miss the tournament as he is currently renewing his US visa. He will return in time for their last event of the year, the Champions Cup Finals, in Malta. His absence will set the team back as the AWPer is an essential part of the squad. HEN1 was instrumental in FURIA’s third-place finish at StarSeries i-League Season 8, where he named among the exceptionally valuable players.
Back in July, guerri made a similar move when he replaced Rinaldo "ableJ" Moda Junior at the ESEA Season 31 Global Challenge. At the time, ableJ was also dealing with visa issues, hence his absence. FURIA went on to win the Dallas event and qualified for the ESL Pro League.
FURIA Esports’ roster for cs_summit 5 is as follows:
Andrei "arT" Piovezan
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo
Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (stand-in)
cs_summit 5 will hold from December 12-15 at the Summit Studio, Los Angeles. It features a $150,000 prize pool and six teams in contention.
