North American Counter-Strike scene has grown up a lot past two years. The days we made jokes of “NA flashes and players” are gone. Literally. Two American teams are now in top-10 worldwide ranking (Team Liquid and NRG) and every day, every tournament you can see new talents coming from this region to compete against the best around the world. And sometimes they are even better, to be honest.
That’s why Ghost eSports has signed multi-year agreement to extend 20-year-old Matthew "WARDELL" Yu in their CS:GO roster. Matthew joined Ghost in April 2017 alongside the rest of the Bee's Money Crew line-up and is the last player of the squad who still compete in the highest level (meaning worldwide). The main AWPer from Canada is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in his region. This year, he has averaged a 1.19 rating on LAN, and he is currently the fourth highest rated player in the North American ESL Pro League division (1.23).
Matt Dillon, CEO of Ghost eSport believe that Wardell “has become one of the world’s premier CS:GO athletes and admitting to being thrilled that the player has re-committed his future to the organization.”
