Genesis 7 event schedule

Starting tomorrow, we’ve got two big fighting game tournaments on the way, Genesis 7 and EVO Japan 2020. Its a tough choice picking one over the other, but if you’ve decided to set your sights on Oakland, then here’s what the schedule looks like. 

Day One

The doors to Oakland Marriott City Center open at 9 am, with check-ins open all day. Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate pools for both Singles and Doubles events begin at 10 am. While the Singles pools run all day long, the Doubles top 6 takes place from 8 pm -10 pm. Other tournaments holding on the first day are Super Smash Bros. 64, Rivals of Aether, Splatoon 2, and Smash Sisters. 

Day Two

Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate Singles conclude their pools on the second day along with the Top 64. The Smash Sisters Crew Battles also take place on Saturday, with Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. 64 tournaments ending by 10 pm. Side events for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME, Windjammers, and Super Turbo & Magical Drop 3 will start and end this day as well. 

Day Three

Sunday is Finals day. Taking place at Paramount Theatre, it gives the best Smash Melee and Ultimate players the spotlight. The day features the Singles top 8 brackets for Rivals of Aether, Smash Melee, and Ultimate. Both Smash tournaments also have pre-shows that take place before each top 8 bracket begins. 

Genesis 7 will run from January 24-25 across two venues. Oakland Marriott City Center will also be open overnight for attendees, while Sunday’s stream will be hosted on Beyond The Summit’s Twitch channel here.
