Spanish organisation, G2 Esports has announced the departure of Richard "shox" Papillon, who leaves in search of other opportunities.
The French player was reportedly benched following the team's 9th-11th place finish at StarLadder Berlin Major. This also coincided with rumours about G2 signing CR4ZY's Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač which would have also resulted in the benching of Lucas "Lucky" Chastang.
shox's long professional career carried him from Counter-Strike 1.6 to Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike:Global Offensive. He spent three-and-a-half years at G2 following their signing of him and the rest of ex-Titan in early 2016.
His accolades at G2 include winning ECS Season 1 Finals, ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals, and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017. shox is also one of the few players to compete in the top-16 of every single Major to date.
shox reportedly makes his way to Team Vitality as a replacement for Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt, who was benched following their 5th-8th place finish at StarLadder Berlin Major. G2 has secured Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey as a stand-in for shox as they compete at ESL One: New York 2019.
