Following five intense games, G2 Esports managed to defeat Fnatic 3-2 to win their back-to-back LEC title. As a result, the organisation is now the first LEC seed of the 2019 League of Legends World Championship

Fnatic took the first game after a chaotic team fight and a pace that they dictated. G2 failed to regroup and kept on fighting which ended in their opponent's favour.

In the second game, G2 decided to shutdown Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen and applied a lot of pressure on Fnatic. G2 took over the map, executing better rotations but was still occasionally punished when it overextended. However, Fnatic failed to take the win.

In game three, G2 gained an early advantage by taking out Broxah for first blood. However, they overextended once more and were properly punished this time for it. Taking the lead, Fnatic continued to build on it. G2 began to stall but Fnatic eventually secured their second Baron buff which won them the game.

At match point, Rasmus "Caps" Winther carried G2 with smarter plays that Fnatic couldn't find answers to. Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hansen was having similar results in the top lane that Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau couldn't beat. G2 ultimately forced the series into game five.

Once more, G2 gained an early advantage but overestimated their control which allowed Fnatic to punish them yet again. However, Fnatic made the same mistake which G2 used to catch up. With a series of back and forth skirmishes, the match continued until G2 took two inhibitors and a Baron buff which led to a glorious victory for the Spanish team.

The LEC Regional Finals 2019 will be held from September 12-15 to determine the remaining LEC seeds into Worlds. First place will enter the Group Stage of Worlds, while second place will go into the Play-In Stage. Fnatic is the first seed in the LEC Regional Finals with FC Schalke 04 Esports second, Origen third and Splyce fourth.
