G2 took on Tricked in the grand final of Good Game League in Poznan on Sunday and won. Starting on the terrorist side of the Train map, G2 got off to a good start, taking the lead with 10-5 at the half. Tricked came back with a firm counter afterwards, leading to the overtime, but Richard “shox” Papillon and Kenny “kennyS” Schrub made some great plays that helped the team secure the map at 19-15.
On Inferno, Tricked didn’t fare any better. G2 immediately won 9 rounds in a row on t-side, preventing counter-terrorist Tricked from gaining any ground and ending the half at 11-4. Things came close on the ct-side, but G2 ultimately emerged victorious, winning the last round at 16-11.
Tricked entered the grand finals after defeating Virtus.pro 2-1 in the semi-finals, most likely not expecting as much of a challenge from G2 afterwards. The French team defeated Team GamerLegion 2-0 in the semi-finals, only to defeat Tricked with the same scoreline.
G2 currently sits in the top 10 of CS:GO global rankings and is scheduled to attend Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago, StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, ESL One: New York 2019 and ESL Pro League Season 10 – Europe. Piling one achievement after the other, G2 has been displaying a lot of promise with no signs of slowing down.
