FunPlus Phoenix enters CS:GO with the acquisition of the Heroic roster and joins FLASHPOINT, according to a report from 1pv.fr.
Heroic haven't had the best start to the 2020 CS:GO season. The Danes have seen poor performances across multiple qualifiers and early exits from tournaments. They have, for now, lost the title of the second-best team from Denmark to MAD Lions, and might even be under North. Now that a new organization has acquired the team, the change in leadership and management may be what the team needs to get back on their feet.
FunPlus Phoenix has teams across League of Legends, Fortnite, and PUBG. FunPlus Phoenix is well known for their success in League of Legends, winning the 2019 League of Legends World Championship by sweeping G2 3-0, and are now hoping to transfer that success to CS:GO.
The Heroic roster who are now FunPlus Phoenix is:
- Johannes "b0RUP" Borup
- Patrick "es3tag" Hansen
- Martin "stavn" Lund
- Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
- Casper "cadiaN" Møller
- Frederik "LOMME" Nielsen (Coach)
The report also states that FunPlus Phoenix has joined FLASHPOINT as the eigth partner team for the North American-based league. FLASHPOINT Season 1 is set to begin on Friday, March 13, in Los Angeles, California.
