NetherRealm has officially revealed the last launch fighter for Mortal Kombat 11 – and surprisingly, it’s Frost, Sub-Zero’s lunatic apprentice. It was rather unexpected, to say the least, but it’s nonetheless nice to see the almost forgotten character in her newest incarnation.

The main change is that Frost is now a fully cybernetic being. The technology that lies behind this transformation differs from the one used to create such well-known cyborgs as Cyrax and Sector. Frost is actually powered by Kronika’s force, while visually she resembles an icy remake of Tony Stark’s iron armour. There’s even an “ice core” of sorts right in the centre of her chest. According to the developers, the obnoxious and cocky pupil of Sub-Zero became the perfect fit for Kronika’s plans to rewrite the history and to change the world. NetherRealm believes that the redesign of Frost proved to be exceptionally good. And judging by the reveal trailer, she’s also capable of performing very impressive attacks and combos.

During the initial reveal livestream, the devs mentioned that this version of Frost is among the characters that are really hard to master. It’s nothing intentionally hard in controlling her, but she’s actually a very complex fighter in terms of trying to adopt her style. Perhaps, she’s the one you’ll choose. See for yourself today, when the game releases on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
