As announced previously, Fortnite has finally received the very same respawn mechanics that was initially introduced to the Battle Royale genre with the release of Apex Legends. It was a cool and refreshing concept, so it’s not even remotely surprising that Epic Games decided to implement the same idea in its own game.
Reboot Van is the main addition to Fortnite with the latest update v8.30, and we’ve already covered the mechanics in our previous article. You can now bring back fallen teammates and become the true hero of your unit. You can find the respawn points at all the major locations across the map. After elimination, your squad members now drop so-called Reboot Cards, which can be reclaimed during a short period of time (90 seconds) – just like in Apex Legends. The next step is to bring the collected cards to the nearest Reboot Van and to witness the glorious return of your mates. Once used, the Vans will enter the cooldown mode for 120 seconds before they can be activated again. Interestingly, the revived teammates come back with a common pistol and 100 wood to join the fight straight away.
Buccaneer’s Bounty Event and limited time mode Fly Explosives are among other additions to the game. The former allows you to collect treasure by completing daily challenges, while the latter is focused around using explosive weapons along with jetpacks. That’s a great combo if you ask.
