Fortnite has been reimagined as Dark Souls

Dark Souls and Fortnite are complete opposites in terms of what they have to offer – while the latter game is a funny casual online entertainment, the former is often described as the benchmark for modern hardcore RPGs. You might be thinking that such an arrangement is to stay untouched forever, but that’s definitely not what a YouTube content-creator LaffenGas had in mind.

This creative man is responsible for an exceptionally hilarious video. Using his editing skills, he’s turned cartoonish and childish Fortnite into a proper Dark Souls experience with PvP and a boss-fight. In the video below, you can see how perfectly both games fit each other – and it’s a shame that we’ll never see the actual playable build of this creation. While Fortnite’s silliness with emotes and all of the rest is still in place in the video, it has the authentic feeling of Dark Souls due to the camera positioning, cut-scenes, and a lot more demanding “gameplay.” We’ve deliberately put this word in quotes since the video has been simply taken in regular Fortnite – and all of the familiar HUD elements are overlays and not the actual menus.

What’s even more surprising is that such a concept actually works in terms of representing the potential gameplay of a fictional title Dark Souls: Prepare to Build Edition. Obviously, you would expect a lot darker and grimier picture from a Dark Souls imposter; however, vivid colours of Fortnite enrich the experience and make you laugh because of the mutually exclusive features.
