Fnatic continue their flawless tournament run in the winter season by shutting down
Luminosity Gaming 3-0 to win the IEM Season X World Championship Katowice.

It's the second year in a row the Swedes have etched their name on the IEM Katowice trophy and are now on a six-LAN championship streak after winning FACEIT 2015 Stage 3, Fragbite Masters Season 5, ESL Pro League Season 2, SL i-League and ESL Expo Barcelona.

The Grand Finals series started off strong for both teams with the first map on Overpass going into an overtime. LG kicked off the map by just shutting down Fnatic 12-3 in the first half, and fnx secured the second pistol round, clutching a 2v1 with just 5HP.

Up 13-3 with superior economy, it looked like LG had the map in the bag, but Fnatic made an incredible comeback. LG were only able to take one more round and ended up down 14-15, but they forced the overtime. LG took the first few rounds, but Fnatic turned everything around with olof stealing a round with an AWP collateral.

Fnatic secured Overpass with a 19-17 score and they kept their momentum going on the second map, Cache. It was a strong map for Fnatic and they flexed their muscle, taking the first half with a 12-3 score on T-side. LG couldn't find any footing in the second half and didn't win a single round, ending with an abysmal 3-16 score.

Unfazed by the shutdown, LG regrouped for Inferno and exploded out of the gate with a 12-3 half, but like the first map, Overpass, Fnatic were able to completely turn the game after winning the second pistol round. LG were only able to take two rounds total on their T-side, before Fnatic took the map to a 15-14. LG took a miracle round and forced yet another overtime, but Fnatic would not be denied and took four rounds for the win.

Fnatic take IEM Season X World Championship Katowice, taking home $100,000 USD and an additional $4,000 USD from their victories in the group stage.
