Fnatic have had a relatively slow start to the season. They were directly invited to MPGL in September, but after losing to Execration in the semifinals they won just one best-of-one against WG.Unity before being eliminated from the tournament by MVP Phoenix.
They also participated in The Summit 6 SEA qualifiers, where they lost to Power Gaming in the loser's finals. The team's next challenge will be The Boston Major regional qualifiers Oct. 27-30.
One more direct invite remains to be revealed. The two invited teams will face ten qualifier winners from five regions — Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia, China and Rest of Asia.
The list of teams headed to ROG Masters so far is:
- Fnatic
- Natural 9
- Big and Black
- MOL
