DreamHack has announced that the first Masters event of 2020 will be played online instead of on LAN due to coronavirus concerns. The prize pool is being bumped up an extra $50,000, making in $300,000.

The DreamHack event will now be referred to as DreamHack Masters Spring and will take place on May 19 - June 14. Thirty-two teams will compete in the tournament across four regions for the $300,000 prize pool.

Chief Product Officer at DreamHack, Michael Van Driel, released a statement about his excitement regarding the tournament:

While not being able to compete on LAN is unfortunate, we've developed a structure to support teams, players and fans around the world.
