The World Electronic Sports Games 2019 North America Finals took place over the weekend, with the Canadian team Fighting PandaS winning the North America seed to the WESG 2019 Finals.
Both teams secured spots in the NA Finals by winning the USA, and Canada closed qualifiers. The closed qualifiers both featured six teams and a $15,000 prize pool. Played online from November 2-3, Fighting PandaS and NA’s Finest defeated the likes of Wheel Whreck While Whistling and Demon Slayers.
The WESG 2019 NA Finals consisted of a single-elimination, best-of-3 playoff in which Fighting PandaS beat NA’s Finest 2-0. The LAN event took place in Montréal, Canada, and rewarded first place with $25,000, while second place took home $15,000.
The World Electronic Sports Games 2019 Finals will take place at Chongqing, China, sometime in 2020. Twenty-four teams will compete for their cut of the $800,000 prize pool, with more details regarding the event's format and schedule to be provided at a later date.
