Thanks to the efforts of talented game modder Nova Extra, we can now marvel at the sight of Halo’s Master Chief in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The mod doesn’t make the Xbox character a playable character, but it does give us a cool victory animation.
In Nova Extra’s video, we see the Spartan let off a volley of bullets while the victory music plays, and blue streaks rush across the screen in the background. In the beginning, we even get to see the Halo logo introduce us to the whole new scenario. Even Master Chief’s final pose looks like it's taken from one of the Halo games. Nova Extra’s attention to detail really shows.
Very little information is available regarding how the mod was made, but the quality is top-notch and unmistakable. Its also cool how the announcer, or someone who sounds like him, states the Spartan is the victor. It almost as if it has always been in the game.
Nova Extra created a similar victory screen for the protagonist of “A Hat in Time,” Hat Kid. You can check out that video on YouTube here. Who do you think Nova Extra will bring next?
