Introduction
Fallout 4 is one of the most interesting post-nuclear apocalyptic action game made in the last couple of years. In fact, it is basically the fifth addition to the Fallout series and perhaps the best one yet. In the game, the player takes control of a character who is referred to as the "Sole Survivor". In the game, he witnesses the murder of his relatives and the kidnap of his son, which forces him to start searching around in the world in order to find the missing child.
Fallout 4 has some amazing new features which were not available in the last Fallout series. For example, you can craft a lot of things using scavenged materials, upgrade weapons and armors, build settlements and more. Having said that, there is also one special type of armor which is very strong and rare to find and it is called Power Armor. Apart from being rare, it also provides protection against pretty much all different damage types in the game. However, in order to use and move around with it, you will need to have Fusion Cores, a precious resource.
There are several versions of this armor available. During your early levels, you will only be able to encounter a couple of them. However, when you start leveling up, you will begin to stumble across more armor pieces with better mods. What's more, each version of this special armor also happens to have an addition sub-variants which include better stats. And of course, you also have the opportunity to change the color which will give you a specific bonus for it.
Let's take a look at the different power armors and their locations.
Overboss, Nuka T-51f, Quantum X-01 Mk.5 Power Armor
Fallout 4 had a decent amount of updates but probably the most notable one is the latest DLC because it added the Nuka World Power Armor sets. Some of them are easy to get whereas with others, you will need to force yourself to look around more.
Overboss Power Armor
The Overboss Power Armor is obtainable early on after you defeat the Overboss Colter. In fact, you will first see him in the Coca-Cars Arena during the Taken for a Ride quest. Of course, you will have to defeat him in order to get the armor but this is not that hard.
Nuka T-51f Power Armor
The second armor on this is list is the Nuka T-51f. It is a classic armor which will provide you with +3 Agility if you happen to have all the pieces from this set.
In terms of this specific armor, you can get it in the World of Refreshment, which is located near the Nuka Cola river. Once you go there, follow it until you see a building to the right. Having said that, the armor should right next to it, located in a game. However, in order to get to it, you will have to walk a little bit more alongside the river until you find a hole in the wall. Go through it and climb the stairs and you will be able to unlock the cage.
X-01 Mk.3
Unlike the rest, this armor can be found in a couple of places, which makes your life a whole lot easier. The first one is located in the Nuka-World Power Plant in the west side of the map. As soon as you get there, move towards the bottom floor and look for a locked door with a terminal. Use this terminal in order to open the door and get the suit.
Apart from that, there is also another place where this armor is located - near the station. Once at the power plant, go south-east until you see a building which looks very similar to a bunker. Go inside and hack the computer in order to unlock the cage and get the armor which is inside.
Quantum X-01 Mk.5 Power Armor
Last, but definitely not least, is the Quantum X-01 Mk5. This armor is, by far, the hardest one to get because it is located in a container inside the Star Control, a building in the Galaxy Zone. In order to open this container, you will have to finish the Star Control quest, which will definitely take some time.
Tesla Armor Location
The Tesla Armor is a new kind of power armor which got introduced into Fallout 4 with the Automatron DLC. In fact, it is basically a modified version of the T-60, which makes your life a lot easier. Let's take a look at where to actually find it though because it can get tricky.
Tesla Power Armor
Similar to other sets, there are several parts of the Tesla Power Armor. For example, you can get the torso and the arms pieces during the Headhunter quest. It is definitely easier said than done though because you need to get out of the facility after your fight with Ahab. Once you do that, try to find Jezabel and save her. However, before you d that, you will need to find Ivery which is a very powerful enemy. As soon as you deal with her, you will get the chance to loot the armor.
Tesla Rifle
In addition to the armor, you will also receive an energy weapon called the Tesla Rifle. Apart from looking awesome, it also shoots arcs of lightning which jump from target to target. Unfortunately, the damage output is not that good, however, it allows you to aim against multiple enemies at once. This makes it amazing against stacked enemies.
There were rumors that more Tesla Armor pieces will be added soon. However, as of today, we do not have any information about it.
Piezonucleic Power Armor Location
The Piezonucleic Power Armor is a special chest piece for a power armor suit. Apart from providing a decent amount of protection it also provides faster AP regeneration. Let's take a look at where to find it.
Location
In order to get this amazing item, you will have to go to the Cambridge Polymer Labs which are located in the north of Diamond City across the river. Once you get there, you will have to talk to a robot and follow her through the room. In the end, you will end up in a room which has a PC next to the wall and a large conference table in the center.
This is the place where you can craft your armor. However, in order to do so, you will need to have a few special ingredients:
- Unknown Sample 3111
- Unidentified Sample 611
- Isotope U-238
All those ingredients mentioned above are located nearby. The first one is located outside the building where you are. Ger the Hazmat Suit and the Sample and go to the room which is located next to it. Once there, you need to walk until you reach the end of it and you should see a terminal there. You need to hack it and release the door to the isotope containment chamber.
Once you do that, you need to put the Hazmat Suit on and go to the corridor next to the computer room. Also, there will be some fighting here because you need to kill a Glowing One so be sure to prepare yourself for the fight. After you are done, go to the shelves on the other side of the room and grab the Isotope.
When you are done with the steps above, go back where you started and take the stairs which will lead you to a broken walkway. There will be a door there that you need to unlock, however, you will be only able to do this if you have Expert Hacking. Eventually, you will open it and go inside. However, beware that there will be a lot of traps and alarm triggers there. Try to navigate through them and look for the Unidentified Sample.
When you get all the needed ingredients, go back to the room with the computer and put all the samples in their slots. After that, just start the process and wait for your new armor to be made.
Raider Power Armor
Unlike the other types of armors, this one is probably the weakest. Despite that, it is generally worn by some of the more powerful enemies in their encampments. Of course, similar to others, you will need to deal with these enemies first before you are able to actually get the armor.
Also, keep it in mind that the armor parts themselves will be damaged after you have fought them, so take it easier if you want to actually obtain something.
Apart from that, you can also find the armor in the Glowing Sea region of Commonwealth. However, you should be very careful there because it is pretty dangerous and pretty much everything wants you dead.
T-45 Power Armor
This is probably the first Power Armor that you will stumble across in Fallout 4. Having said that, the full version of this armor will be available once you start doing one of the main story missions called "When Freedom Calls".
The base version of this armor has a lot more defense and HP compared to the Raider version, which makes it a better pick. Finally, you can find this armor in several common locations in the world, especially while you are around level ten.
T-51 Power Armor
The T-51 is definitely an upgrade compared to the first Power armor. In addition to that, the parts for this can be found in a wide variety of places throughout the game world. However, the best idea will be to stary looking for them once you are around level fifteen as this is the sweet spot. The T-51 is one of the best armors to play with until you join the Brotherhood of Steel, where you will get better armor.
T-60 Power Armor
Since this is one of the best armors you can get, you will have to do a lot of work before you actually get it. Having said that, there are two known ways how to obtain this armor - either by becoming a Knight of the Brotherhood of steel or just purchase it from the Atom Cats Garage.
In terms of the Brotherhood of Steel, you need to progress to enough through the main story in order to able to do this. At some point, there will be a big skyship above Boston which will give you a new radio station to listen to - "Military Frequency AF95". What's more, when you start listening to it, you will also be given a new quest to go to the Cambridge Police Station. Once you get there, you will have to do a couple of quests before you actually join the Brotherhood of Steel. Once you do that though, you need to do a few more quests in order to get a good rank within them so that they can let you on the Prydwen.
Apart from purchasing this armor, you can also steal it but this will mean that you'll have to deal with the entire Atom Cats garage.
X-01 Power Armor
This armor is definitely the one which every player strives to get. Of course, it is only obtainable if your level is high. Having said that, there are two locations where you can get this armor. The first is in the Glowing Sea where there is a secret place inside a shack there. However, be careful because it is full of different dangerous synths. If you manage to navigate through them, you`ll find the armor at the bottom level next to the stairs.
The second location is very close to the Custom House Tower. Once you go there, look for a building called 35 Court and get to its rooftop. There, you will have to fight against two high-level robots and if you win, you will unlock a special cell which holds the precious armor.
