Introduction
Fallout 4 is one of the most interesting post-nuclear apocalyptic games in the world. The main story takes place in the year 2287 which is around 10 years after the events in Fallout 3. Having said that, the game itself is set in the city of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region.
The player's character starts in Vault 111, where he has been hiding for 210 years, thus called the "Sole Survivor". The game itself provides a wide variety of weapons, companions and much more. In addition to that, there are multiple houses spread around the city which you can use as your Settlement. However, in order to do so, you need to power up them first.
Having said that, there are many people out there who have no idea how to do it, which is why they will find this article useful.
Providing Electricity
- The first step towards your new home is, of course, to provide electricity. Since the game is in a post-apocalyptic world, you can't just go in and flip the switch. Instead, you need to build a generator. There are various types to choose from, ranging from small, medium and large generators. You can choose the type depending on the amount of crafting ingredients that you have stored up. Powering the house itself costs one power, regardless of the many lights and TV's which you may have in the house
- After you do the steps above, you need to connect the generator to a switch. There are different types of key combinations, depending on the platform that you play on.
- Hand the switch with he connected generator outside and the house will lighten up.
Some difficulties
Keep it in mind that there are many problems which you may encounter while you are trying to fix the house. For instance,m if the house is too big, it will be very hard for the power to reach to the other side of the house. That's why it is a good idea to use large power pylons as a main tool because they have a long distance. What's more, they can also connect wires over the longest distance, which is yet again another plus.
Possible problems
If you have a big house, it will be harder for power to reach from one side of the house to the other. Only the lights that are closest to the generator will work because each point in the electrical network provides power in a radius around it.
