Fallout 4 is an amazing action role-playing game which is set in an open world enviroment. In fact, the gameplay is very similar to the previous version, of course, with many new features. Definitely one of the biggest changes is related to the camera switch between first-person and third-person perspective.  Fallout  4 also introduces many new ingame features including a layered armor system, base-building, a dialogue system with over 111,000 lines and a new crafting system.

There are many amazing armors out there which can do wonders in battle. One of the is Maxon's Battlecoat, which is unique because it's a brown fur coat. In fact, it has been worn by Elder Maxson, who is the leader of the Brotherhood of Steel, one of the most famous "organizations" in Fallout 4.

Apart from looking awesome, this armor offers good protection as well as a bonus to Perception. Having said that, here is how to get it.

How to get Maxson's Battlecoat

Like we mentioned above, the coat itself provides decent protection. In addition to that, it also offers 50 damage resistance and gives +1 Perception. Despite that, many people want to obtain the item only because of its looks. After all, it is considered to be a cosmetic item.

As you would expect, Elder Maxson is not going to just hang his coat to you. In fact, you can not even steal the damn thing, even with a level 4 pickpocket perk, which should usually do the job.  Having said that, the only option you have left is to kill him if you really want it. Keep it in mind that he is definitely tougher than he looks, so prepare to have some serious fight going on.

In addition to that, killing Maxson will also make the Brotherhood hate you a lot. So, if you have any plans to make friends with them, it's better to just let the coat be. However, if you really want to get that item, go ahead and do so. There are two ways in which you can kill him - either wait for a quest which involves killing him or just go to Prydwen and do the job. Either way, you will be able to get the coat for yourself.
