Newbee has announced its new Chinese roster ahead of the Dota Pro Circuit 2019-2020 season. Zeng "Faith" Honda makes his return alongside two fellow former Typhoon Esports players.
Following the departure of Song "Sccc" Chun for Team Aster, Newbee's plans have been a mystery, until now. The TI4 champions haven't been in form for some time now. After their TI7 runner-up finish, the team dropped out of TI8 early and was unable to qualify for TI9. They only managed to participate in the recent TI after sponsoring the former Forward Gaming roster that finished 9th-12th.
Faith brings with him Lai "Fonte" Xingyu and Yin "Aq" Rui who will be playing position 1 and 2 respectively. Although they both have little competitive experience, they are high-MMR pubstars. Newbee most likely sees potential in the duo, much like they did with Sccc before the team turned him into a renowned player.
Typhoon is a tier-two Chinese team that recently won the Asia Communication League. Aq and Fonte's move to Newbee is a step up for careers but might result in an uphill battle for their new organisation.
