Pan "Fade" Yi returns to professional Dota after his post-TI9 retirement. He announced his return yesterday in a Weibo post.
Later that day, Team Aster revealed that Fade would be playing position 5 for them as a free agent. His unexpected retirement lasted only two weeks and came from a misunderstanding with his former team, Vici Gaming.
In a statement, Fade said that he had made many mistakes which led to too much drama and he wished to go back to simpler times. During the post-TI shuffle, accusations were made against Royal Never Give Up (RNG) for trying to poach a
Vici Gaming player. It later turned out that this was false and the player in question was Fade. He left the organisation the day his contract with the organisation expired.
Vici Gaming ended Dota Pro Circuit 2018/2019 with a 5th-6th place finish in TI9. With strong results from its roster, no one expected any of the organisation's players to leave.
Fade now states that his departure from competitive Dota felt like an escape, so he decided to return. It was only a week ago that Team Aster signed Song "Sccc" Chun who also left his old organisation, Newbee after TI9.
The new Team Aster roster also includes fellow Chinese players Lin "Xxs" Jing, Ye "BoBoKa" Zhibiao and Malaysian player Kee "ChYuan" Chyuan Ng.
