The official EVO Japan 2020 preview video was revealed on Christmas day, highlighting all the main tournament titles of the 3-day event. Also of note is the song "Wanderlust" by the Japanese band BLUE ENCOUNT.

EVO Japan 2020 will take place from January 24-26 at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The 2019 edition took place at the Fukuoka Convention Center, while 2018 held at Sunshine City for the first two days and Akiba Square on the third. It would appear that the tournament organizers are still yet to find a permanent home for the premier fighting game event.

Sadly, EVO Japan 2020 shares the same dates as Genesis 7, the North American tournament holding in Oakland, California. This scheduling clash will, unfortunately, split the Smash community between both events. However, this doesn’t seem to have affected EVO Japan’s Smash numbers as the organizers had to put an entry cap on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in late November at 3,072 registrations

Registration for all games except Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reopened on December 24 and was to close today, the 26th. However, they hit capacity for all tournaments except Street Fighter V yesterday.

EVO Japan 2020 Day 3 tickets are currently available for purchase, so grab yours quickly before they’re all sold out.
