EVO 2019 used David Hayter's voice in a Tekken-Solid Snake joke ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

During EVO 2019, the organisers made a joke during the Tekken finals in which Solid Snake had a codec conversation with Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. Fans took it a little too seriously though, immediately assuming this meant that the Metal Gear character would be coming to Tekken 7 as a season 3 character.

They made use of an existing voice over that Hayter had recorded for a fan, which the voice actor was not pleased about. He was specifically unhappy that neither he nor Konami were consulted and that it was all to promote another company's property.

When it comes to practical jokes, this was probably not the best of ideas.
