Evil Geniuses and Vitality invited to StarSeries i-League Season 8

Evil Geniuses and Team Vitality are the latest invites to StarSeries i-League Season 8. They join nine other confirmed teams with four invitations remaining to be announced and one more spot allocated to the Campeonato Brasileiro de Counter-Strike Season 1 winner.

The CBCS Season 1 Grand Final will take place on October 11, with Imperial e-Sports taking on Evidence e-Sports in a best-of-3 match. Besides Evil Geniuses and Vitality, the winner will also have to contend with AVANGAR, Fnatic, Heroic, Invictus Gaming, MIBR, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Renegades and 5Power Gaming once StarSeries i-League begins.

Evil Geniuses are the highest-ranked team confirmed for the event so far, coming fresh off their victory at last month’s ESL One New York. The team has consistently reached the semi-finals of StarSeries events and their recent boost in morale might be just what they need to win this time around.

Vitality, on the other hand, is ranked sixth in the world and attended its first StarSeries event last year during Season 7. Finishing in second place at DreamHack Masters Malmö, the team is in top form and should give their opponents a very hard time.

StarSeries i-League Season 8 is taking place in Turkey, from October 21-27. It features a  $500,000 prize pool and will introduce a double-elimination format in both the Group Stage and Playoffs.
