Last year 12 European esports bodies decided to establish an independent esports federation for the region, and now their dream has almost reached fruition. The European Esports Federation will officially launch in Brussels on February 20, 2020.
The organization hopes to bring European esports stakeholders together under an umbrella of solidarity and friendship. It will serve as the mouthpiece for its members and their players, providing a democratic platform for the growth and development of esports in Europe.
The European Esports Federation will operate under the guidelines of the Berlin Declaration, which was agreed upon in April 2019. It has over 20 members including national bodies from the UK, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, France, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Sweden, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Beginning on Thursday, the event will end on Friday, February 21, 2020.
