The media has also signed a license agreement to broadcast ESL events for two years. The subscription costs €6 per month and is currently available only for Germans. There were no reports on content translation into English.
The channel plans to highlight major League of Legends, Dota 2, Clash Royale and FIFA 19 events. Among the confirmed one: ESL One Katowice (22-24 Feb), ESL One Mumbai (19-21 Apr), ESL One Birmingham (May 31 — July 2), and European Masters plus Red Bull MEO.
Torsten Haux, VP of Global Media Rights & ESportsTV at ESL stated:
We are very pleased to continue to expand our pioneering partnership with Sport1. As the rollout of our previous tournaments has rapidly gained in popularity, extending the existing collaboration has been the next logical step, and we particularly want to provide the Dota 2 community with another platform to follow our international tournaments.
