ESL has announced the first Dota Major to take place in Los Angeles. Scheduled to hold from March 20-22, ESL One Los Angeles will be hosted at Shrine Auditorium.
The third Major in the DPC 2019/2020 season will have 16 teams compete against one another for a total prize pool of $1 million and 15,000 DPC points. The Group Stage will take place from March 15-17, featuring four best-of-3 brackets (GSL format). The top two teams in each group will move on to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs, while the bottom two teams will advance to the Lower Bracket.
The regional qualifiers will hold in Europe, China, North America, CIS, Southeast Asia, and South America. At least three seeds will emerge from Europe, China, and North America, while the remaining regions will have two each.
The double-elimination Playoffs feature best-of-3 matches with the Dota 2 Academy Final’s best-of-1 matchup taking place on the last day of the event. The Major’s Grand Final will be a best-of-5 battle that will close the event on March 22.
