In Season 8 of the AU & NZ National Championship, we will see some changes in comparison to last year's edition, featuring only twelve teams, down from sixteen while eight of them will receive a direct invite and four participants will have to fight for their spot via an open qualifier.
The open qualifier will take place over the course of February and March. For registration, you can use the following link:
- February 9 - Open Qualifier #1
- February 16-17 - Open Qualifier #2
- February 23-24 - Open Qualifier #3

All teams will be split into two groups while the top of the group will earn a direct invite to the semi-finals of the LAN. The two runners up will start in the quarterfinals, and the remaining two participants of the quarter-finals will be determined through the last chance qualifier.
A brand new IEM Sydney Derby will take a place on April 16-18, while the top two teams from each group of the AU&NZ Championship 2019 online season will duke it in a single-elimination bracket, where the winner will take a spot in the group stage of the IEM event.
