EPICENTER Major — Day 3 Results

The first day at the EPICENTER Major Playoffs gave us a few tense matches, and also set a high playing level for those who want to claim the most top places.

It was a challenging day for Virtus.pro: Team Secret wasn't enough for them as opponents in the first round, and the tournament organizers set the semifinal of the Upper Bracket on the same day. The meeting against Clement Ivanov's squad was quite exhausting - no one wanted to give up, and some fights were long enough.

Virtus.pro coach ArsZeeqq won in the drafters' duel: the third map was decided at the very beginning, and Team Secret was able to make only one kill on it.

After a few hours of rest, "bears" had to play with Team Liquid. KuroKy and teammates got a very confident "dry" victory. The German captain "taught" Virtus.pro several lessons on drafts and their implementation in the Upper Bracket semifinals. Team Liquid won its two maps in 24 and 22 and a half minutes.

CIS representatives won the second game with great difficulty, being more successful in the late game, but Team Liquid made an earnest bid to win EPICENTER for the third time.

Finally, let's talk about the two teams that left the tournament. PaiN Gaming couldn't make much resistance against Ninjas in Pyjamas: ppd's team calmly dismantled the Brazilian wall and now will wait for the loser in the Vici Gaming - Gambit Esports match.

Fnatic turned out to be entirely unprepared for the tournament and showed it in the match against Forward Gaming. The 1/36 kill score, all three lanes are lost. Fnatic needs to change something decisively. Otherwise, they will be one of the main favourites in the nomination "disastrous performance at The International".

It is expected that Tuesday will be no less eventful. We are waiting for five matches, after which we can ay goodbye to two more teams, and also find out the name of the second finalist in the Upper Bracket.
