Epic offers free Fortnite Battle Pass in the wake of Apex's popularity

Epic is obviously unhappy with how well executed and popular Apex Legends turned out to be. The company is taking extra steps to win the competition, are here goes another one to draw the players’ attention. Just recently, Epic has been sending out promotional emails with details on how to get a Battle Pass for Fortnite’s Season 8 for free. If you are subscribed to Epic’s newsletter, you might’ve as well received a copy.

The email says that you can earn a free Battle Pass by performing pretty simple tasks. All it takes to do is to complete 13 Overtime Challenges. By doing so by February 27 you will receive the upcoming Season 8 Battle Pass for free. No V-Bucks involved here, it’s just a generous offer to bring back some players out of those 25 million people already playing Apex Legends. You might argue that this has nothing to do with Fortnite’s rival, but let’s be real here for at least a moment. How often does Epic Games offer something like that?

In addition to that, players can also earn five more free rewards by completing the aforementioned challenges. Moreover, there’re two weekends with double XP, and the first one starts today and runs through February 17. The second one is scheduled for February 22-24.
