Epic Games opens a new studio in Germany

Thanks to the great success the company has enjoyed in the last few years, Epic Games has announced the opening of a new branch in Europe, situated in Cologne, Germany. 

The new studio will be led by the principal members of Factor 5, the team behind games like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and the Turrican series. Its focus will be on “emerging forms of interactive media and streaming technologies.”

“At the core of Epic’s success are highly-skilled and passionate individuals. Germany is a nation at the forefront of technology and we look forward to extending our local presence as we fill newly created roles and hire exceptional talent,” said the director of online technology at Epic, Julian Eggebrecht. Achim Moller will also act as Epic Games Cologne studio director

This makes the second studio the company owns in Germany, the first being Epic Games Berlin. The developer also owns nine other subsidiaries situated across the world.
