Envy joins the FLASHPOINT league after a complete revamp of their CS:GO roster. Envy joining leaves three open slots for other teams to become founders in the FLASHPOINT league.
FLASHPOINT and ESL faced off in some heated competition earlier this year. The leagues were competing for the buy-in of the top teams in CS:GO. For this year, it seems ESL was the winner of this competition. FLASHPOINT has stated that they are here for the long haul, and while they may not have as many top teams as they had hoped this year, they are confident in their process.
Becoming a founding member in FLASHPOINT requires a $2 million buy-in from interested organizations.
These are the current teams that are bought into FLASHPOINT:
- Cloud9
- MAD Lions
- Gen.G
- MIBR
- Dignitas
- Envy
- c0ntact
The FLASHPOINT league is set to begin on March 13. The FLASHPOINT Global Qualifiers are happening right now for two teams to make it into the Season One. The league will see 12 teams compete in a GSL format. The top eight teams from the GSL format will advance on to the finals.
