EA gave the gaming community a promise in October to bring the beloved Command & Conquer series back to PC. The "restoration" is happening right now, as EA has announced Command & Conquer and Red Alert remasters by Petroglyph Games.
This is some really great news for RTS fans. In case you didn't know, Petroglyph Games was founded by former Westwood employees - the original dev team behind Command & Conquer franchise. The original composer for the series - Frank Klepacki - is also on board writing the new score. There are some new faces as well: in order for the remasters to shine in full 4K glory, Petroglyph is partnering with Lemon Sky Studios. This studio is best known for delivering an excellent StarCraft remaster.
"We have decided to remaster Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn. And while this is incredibly exciting on its own, we're also aware of how passionate the community is about the Red Alert universe. So, we will also remaster the original Command & Conquer: Red Alert."
Jim Vessella.
As Jim Vessella notes in the official announcement, both games will be bundled with their respective expansion packs - without any trace of microtransactions. It is worth noting that the development process is yet to begin, so it's going to be a while before we finally clash GDI and NOD forces in brutal battles. Additional details can be found on the official EA website.
