This E3 is especially exciting because we are on the verge of a console generation shift. Microsoft was the first to reveal its new console called Project Scarlett, set for release during the 2020 holiday season.
Key details about Project Scarlett:
- New Zen 2 processor from AMD that is 4 times more powerful than the Xbox One X.
- The new console is reportedly capable of outputting 8K-resolution gameplay at 120 FPS.
- Hardware accelerated next-gen ray-tracing.
- A new generation of SSD which is used as “virtual RAM.” It’s supposed to help with things like moving from one massive location to another without the loading time.
- The console is designed with Xbox Pass in mind and it’s supposed to be a perfect streaming device.
