With only a few days to Evo 2019, details regarding Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition's latest roster additions was leaked. For months now, Capcom game producer, Yoshinori Ono, has been hinting at big news arriving about the game in August. He probably never expected it to be revealed this way though.
Thanks to a Steam error, the identities of three new characters were discovered. E. Honda, Lucia, and Poison will be joining SFV: Arcade Edition on August 4, and the Summer 2019 Character Bundle launches the day after.
Many members of the fighting game community accurately guessed E. Honda would be the next character, but to get three was a bit of a surprise. That's because the last character to be revealed, Kage, was introduced alone and Capcom also announced there would be no season pass.
It's common for developers to reveal new content for their games during Evo making them one of the event's highlights, but thanks to this leak, the hype that often follows such reveals has now been lost to SFV: Arcade Edition.
E. Honda is one of the original playable characters from Street Fighter II with his distinctive sumo wrestling skills. Final Fight character Poison returns to the Street Fighter franchise with her whip techniques. Lucia is also an original Final Fight character, but she makes her Street Fighter debut in this game with fancy moves of her own.
Shortly after the leak, Capcom decided to make it official by sharing a tweet and video for the new characters. YouTube video shows off their moves, a new stage, and multiple costumes for each character.
Evo 2019 will be held at Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas from August 2-4. If we're lucky, Capcom might have more information to share and if not, other games probably will. Sony definitely has one of its own.
