The first day of DreamHack Open Rio 2019 passed without any surprises. The favourites didn’t disappoint their fans and betting lovers. AVANGAR and Sharks headed the groups after the first two matches.
Group A
The Kazakhstan team AVANGAR dismantled Brazilians from INTZ (36th line of the hltv.org rating) with a score of 16:8 in Group A, but they had to sweat with the American-Canadian team eUnited. The battle on Inferno reached additional rounds, where AVANGAR was still stronger in the end - 25:23 and advanced to the semifinals.
INTZ took the second place in the group, having beaten FURIA and now they will defend their chance to get into the playoffs against the winner of the pair eUnited - FURIA.
Group B
The “hosts” of the tournament Sharks dealt with their fellow countrymen from Redemption POA 16:9 in Group B, and then beat the European team Valiance 16:12 on the same map. The Serbian team was able to rehabilitate itself in the game with W7M on Mirage - 16:13. It remains to win another game to secure a semifinal, where AVANGAR is already waiting for the second team from Group B.
Today matches will be held in bo3 format. Schedule for today and tomorrow:

- W7M – Redemption POA (April 20, 18:00 CEST)
- INTZ – eUnited/FURIA (April 21, 21:00 CEST)
- Valiance – W7M/ Redemption POA (April 21, 00:00 CEST)
- Sharks – the team that will take second place in group A (April 21, 15:00 CEST)
- AVANGAR – the team that will take second place in group B (April 21, 18:00 CEST)
- Final – 22:00 CEST
We remind you that the LAN-final of Forge of Masters. WePlay! League will begin on May 3. Four teams will compete for the final prize: AVANGAR, HellRaisers, Vega Squadron and DreamEaters. You should be there. It will be fun!
