DreamHack has announced the seven teams that have received invites to the DreamHack All-Stars: Winter Clash, set to take place Nov. 26-27.
While the seven teams are some of Europe's strongest, there is also a notable omission from the assembled squads.
The invitees are:
- G2 Esports
- Virtus.Pro
- Team Dignitas
- Team Liquid
- Team ROCCAT
- Team Spartanien
- Fnatic
Additionally, a team will qualify for the event through the Open Qualifier, which began yesterday and will finish today. Currently, Goofers and TCM Gaming are set to do battle in the winners' final.
Notably absent from the invited teams is Natus Vincere. They also declined their invite to the recent Fragbite Masters tournament, which wraps up today, and two of their members — Simon "scHwimpi" Svensson and Jerome "JayPL" Trinh — have been subbing with Team Dignitas, replacing Adrian "adrd" Wojcik and Matic "Zarmony" Mikec.
Management from Natus Vincere confirmed that the team was initially invited to DreamHack, but declined their invite to the event as they are still finalizing their roster: implying that roster changes are incoming for the team.
When scHwimpi's involvement with Team Dignitas was first announced, management confirmed that he was simply a sub, and that he was not trying out for the team.
