The DreamHack Showdown Tournament series has made its return. DreamHack Showdown is a female tournament series that will take place over four online events and offer up a $100,000 prize pool.

In July 2019DreamHack Valencia hosted the first-ever DreamHack ShowdownEight female teams competed against one another for $100,000Besiktas being the ones to take home the gold. Now, DreamHack is continuing the series, but it will be played out online, obviously, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

DreamHack Co-CEO, Marchus Lindmark, released a statement regarding the DreamHack Showdown Tournament series and why DreamHack thought it important to host:

Following the success of the 2019 all women’s CS:GO tournament in Valencia, we are pleased to announce the 2020 DreamHack Showdown. DreamHack is committed to supporting diversity, so this event has become particularly special to us. These are going to be tremendous competitions featuring some of the best women CS:GO players in the world — it is truly a not-to-be-missed tournament!

The DreakHack Showdown Tournament series will consist of two NA and two EU events with a $25,000 prize pool each. The first two events will be on July 17 - 19 for Europe, and July 24 - 26 for North America. The dates for the last two events have yet to be confirmed.
