Alisports has named DouYu the exclusive Chinese streaming partner of World Electronic Sports Games for the 2019-2020 season.

DouYu will co-host the Chinese online qualification stage, with player registration available through the streaming platform. Popular DouYu streamers and influencers will also participate or commentate the event.

The online qualification stage will include the following games:

  • Dota 2

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

  • StarCraft II

  • eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020

Alisports general manager of electronic sports department, Rui Zhang, spoke on the deal:

As one of the top streaming platforms in China, DouYu will provide excellent online watching experience for our esports fans and cooperate with us to establish the benchmark of global esports events in the live streaming industry.”

WESG is determined to become the esports equivalent of the Olympics, which has led to some unpopular decisions regarding team composition. The deal with DouYu will, however, serve to help achieve that goal by reaching a much wider audience.
