5. Owner of NewBee paid $ 100,000 for transfers of players!

The first interesting news of the last week was the announcement of amount of compensation for two Chinese players: xiao8 and Hao. Half a million yuans were paid for the former captain of LGD, at the same time NewBee’s management paid another 100,000 for his actual teammate! If you convert this money into dollars, you get a sum little less than 100,000! NewBee lets us understand that it’s not going to be a one-day team. It means that we can expect high results from the star line-up.

4 . Another scandal with Marco Fernandez: ACE against Netolic League.

Marco Fernandez, former manager of Speed Gaming, has been involved into a scandal again: Chinese e-sports organization ACE, which unites the leading Chinese teams, has expressed its distrust to Netolic league, which is managed by Fernandez. As a result, DK has refused to participate in the tournament. Formally, all the claims come to the fact that not all the teams were paid prize money for the previous seasons. At the same time western teams (RoX.KIS, SSD and Fnatic) said that all of them received the winnings. Whether this situation is a result of misunderstanding, or we are talking about a kind of behind-the-scenes struggle, we don’t know. We can only wait and follow the news.

3. Start of the first season of DreamLeague.

DreamHack moved to a new level! After carrying out a pilot season of DreamLeague last year, the organizers decided not to slow down! Now 12 teams will compete for a prize pool of over $ 100,000! Another inviting thing for spectators was the introduction of Compendium, which looks like the one presented by Valve at The International in 2013. The tournament will be held in online format. At that, 6 best teams will determine the strongest within the frames of DreamHack exhibition from 14th to 17th of June.

2 . Large-scale tournament from ESL: $ 150,000 in a prize pool!

ESL is among the leaders in the race of tournaments’ organizers! Last week ESL announced a tournament, which will be attended by the top 8 teams from all over the world. 40 players will fight for a prize pool of $ 150,000, and all this will happen in a football stadium in Frankfurt! It is expected that the tournament will be held on 28th and 29th of June, and tickets are already on sale! The prices are quite affordable by the standards of Europe: a ticket for both days will cost a little less than 30 Euros. So, now we just need to wait a bit, because we’ll have a hot June this year!

1. The International 2014 will be held in mid-July.

Sensational news appeared in Internet last week: The International will be held in mid-July! One of the possible reasons is that Valve wants to hold the tournament in Seattle, but not in Benaroya Hall, which can host 3,000 spectators, but in Key Arena, ready to give a place to 15,000 people! This news may upset the plans of tournaments’ organizers and teams: in June there will be three first-class tournaments with a total prize pool of $ 400,000, and some teams may simply not have enough time and energy to prepare for a main championship of the year. We are waiting for further news from Valve and continue to keep abreast with events of Dota scene. Stay with us!
