Dota Plus Winter Update Is Here!

Valve released the promised Dota Plus update on schedule, delighting the fans once again this autumn. And although the winter terrain came to us exactly by the clock in the first seconds of December, the developers rolled out the system update a little later, but still with the date of December 1. In short, the update raised the maximum hero level to be reached, updated the guild chat-wheel and brought up a new chest. Now, into the details.

Grandmasters of Dota

Previously, the maximum achievable level of a single character with a Dota Plus subscription was 25, but now we can reach 30 and become the Grandmasters. New badge and new phrases attached. Completing Grandmaster-level quests will get you not experience but shards.

The New Treasure

The new treasure costs 10,000 shards and contains sets for DK, Puck, Spirit Breaker, Templar Assassin, Earth Spirit, Vengeful Spirit, Luna, Necrophos, Undying, Ember Spirit, and Centaur. You also have a chance to get a very rare Hermid Crab courier with two gems: prismatic and kinetic.

Some of them might look a bit... low-polygon, and [surely] a Reddit user found out that some of the sets were made five years ago. 

More Cool Stuff

Finally, new Seasonal Quests in Dota Plus will allow you to earn up to 115,200 additional Shards, and guilds have also received nice rewards for reaching their ranks:

• Silver 
  Emoticons: :guildbanner:, :dazzle_shrug: and :pump_glad:
• Gold 
  "Happy Tree", "Earthshaker Dunk" and "Chicken" Sprays
• Platinum
  Voice phrases: "The next level play!", "Ай-ай-ай-ай-ай, что сейчас произошло” and "啊，队友呢？队友呢？队友呢？！ 队友呢？！？!"

Even in spite of some trickery with the sets from the chest, Valve, while preparing to announce the new DPC season, completing their work on a new character and a new patch, as well as everything else, don't forget the pandemic, were able to do what the fans clearly did not expect: to release the update on time at least and give us a slightly unpretentious but pleasant cosmetic incentive to play.
