As reported yesterday, some players weren’t happy with the qualifiers bracket to the Dota PIT Minor. Peter "ppd" Dager twitted that regions with two event slots to (Europe and China) need to have a double elimination bracket. Many players agreed with this stance since otherwise much came down to luck.
Since it’s ppd, and his tweets have as much authority as presidential executive orders, Dota PIT Minor changed the bracket in Chinese and European qualifiers to double elimination.
The Chinese double elimination bracket games have already started, and some teams will begin falling to the lower bracket very soon. European bracket starts on April 5th.
OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019 kicks off on April 22 in Croatia. It features 8 teams from all competitive regions that will play for a prize pool of $300,000. The winner of the tournament gets the remaining seed at MDL Disneyland Paris Major with $1 million and 15,000 DPC points at stake.
Many players from Dota PIT qualifier are in the “risk zone” of DPC rating, meaning that they are in TOP 12 for now, but may lose the standings if they don’t have a good run in the MDL Paris or Epicenter Moscow Major.
