Dota 2: Which Heroes to Pick in a Lane Against Sniper?

Introduction

Sniper is one of the most deadly heroes during the later stages of the game, especially when he has a good matchup. However, if you manage to stomp him on the lane, he won't be able to do anything later on. 

However, this is definitely easier said than done because if you don't pick the right hero for the job, you won't be able to do that. So, let's take a look at some heroes that can lane very well against this pesky hero.

Phantom Assassin

Phantom Assassin has always been considered as one of Sniper's biggest counters. Even though she might be weak early on, PA is capable of doing insane amounts of damage, which is where she shines against Sniper. Sure, he does a lot of damage too but he is also very fragile. As a result, PA can easily bully Sniper from his lane and make his life very hard.

Viper

The second hero that needs to be taken into account is Viper. He is one of those heroes that is an absolute nightmare to deal with in the lane, and Sniper is no exception here. Viper deals both physical and magical damage, which is why he can easily farm and harras at the same time.

Templar Assassin

The last hero that's capable of ripping through Sniper like a knife through butter is Templar Assassin. This hero has the firepower to bring down pretty much anyone. Sure, TA doesn't have nearly as much range as Sniper, but her Psi Blades are still capable of harassing the little fellow. As a result, Sniper has to constantly move if he wants to survive.
