Dota 2 - Which heroes are good against Phantom Lancer?

Introduction

Whether you like him or not, Phantom Lancer is one of the strongest Dota 2 heroes.  Unlike some other heroes that are strong only during a meta, PL is very consistent. With just a few exceptions, this hero has always proved himself as a very good meta carry that's capable of carrying his team to victory. Despite the fact that he is very strong, PL's strength is in numbers, as the hero says himself. He is powerful because of his illusions, which not bad but this makes him easily countered by many heroes.

Counters to the Phantom Lancer could be showcased during the Kyiv Dota 2 Major in the games of professional teams.

Having said that, let's take a look at some of the heroes that can counter PL and make his life sad.

Earthshaker

The first hero on this list that we want to point out is ES. He is known for being one of the PLs biggest counters ever since the days of DotA. There is only why the reason why that's a fact, and it's thanks to his ultimate. ES's ultimate does more damage based on how many heroes he hits. So, whenever PL has tons of illusions, ES's damage is to the roof. He is literally capable of killing him just with his ult, as long as PL doesn't have a lot of HP items.

Ember Spirit

Although he is not as strong as ES, Ember is capable of doing a lot of physical damage to PL, thanks to his spell called Sleight of Fist. When you pair this with a Battlefury and a Daedalus, Ember suddenly becomes one a huge threat for PL. Having said that, this is only valid until Lancer gets enough items. Once he becomes on 4000+ hp from Skadi and HoT, he will most likely be able to tank the damage from Ember.

Timbersaw

The last hero on our list is Timbersaw. He might not be among the most popular PL counters you can think of but he definitely has what it takes to bring down PL. Unlike Ember who does mainly physical damage, Timbersaw's damage all do Pure damage, which is very deadly, especially when he has some strong items.
