Dota 2 - When to pick Ursa for the Middle lane?

Introduction

Ursa is one of the best carries in the last couple of patches. As a result, IceFrog decided to change the hero once more and it is now a really strong laner that can harass the enemy heroes. Apart from that, the hero still remains one of the strongest snowball characters in Dota 2. Given a proper start, Ursa can absolutely take control of the game and win it for his team in less than 30 minutes. However, this mainly happens whenever the hero is played as a carry. But there are also situations where it's worth putting the hero in Mid. With that said, here are some of the scenarios where a mid-lane Ursa warrior can make all the difference in the world.

Go mid when you have to counter someone

As we've mentioned, one of the strongest aspects of this hero is the fact that it can successfully counter a lot of enemy heroes. This is especially true whenever the enemy mid laner is a melee hero, such as Kunkka for example. Ursa can easily bully him out of the lane and secure herself free farm. If played right, the hero can also easily dive his enemy under the tower and kill him, thanks to her Slow.

Play mid if you need an explosive hero

As we've said, Ursa is considered to be one of the most explosive heroes in Dota 2 that's capable of ripping through the enemy lineup if she snowballs properly. Although the safelane also allows snowballing capabilities, mid is where this can happens very easily, which is why Ursa makes a good fit.

If you need a lot of levels fast

One of the main thinks that Ursa is famous for is the ability to kill Roshan. However, in order for this to happen as soon as possible, she needs to get at least several levels and some lifesteal.  Needless to say, the best place to get levels fast is mid because you will be (in most cases) in a 1 vs 1 scenario. Of course, killing Roshan is going to be tricky because you need to somehow lure the enemy that you're not in the pit because they will try to hunt you down.
