Introduction

Lycan is one of the hottest heroes in Dota 2 right now, especially after the buffs he received in patch 7.25. Currently, this is one of the best laners in the game who also scales incredibly well in the mid-game. In fact, if he gets a good start, he is capable of pushing the enemy base very fast.

Having said that, in order to be able to achieve all that, you have to buy the proper items. So, let's take a look at some items that do wonders on Lycan.

Helm of the Dominator

The first item that's an absolute must for every Lycan player is a Helm of the Dominator. This item allows Lycan to get control of a Neutral creep and use it alongside his Wolves to push faster. Although it might not seem that good on paper, a Centaur early on in the game can make all the difference in the world, especially when doing those early game skirmishes. That's why we definitely suggest you to get this item if you want to be able to do more during the first couple of minutes. It's fairly inexpensive as well, which is another plus.

Necronomicon

The second item that we advise you to buy is Necronomicon. This might seem like an obvious choice, especially if you want to emphasize pushing. However, unlike the Helm of the Dominator, this one is a little bit more expensive, so you should keep that in mind. 

When you get to level 3, you can use the minions and your wolves to quickly kill someone.

Assault Cuirass

The last item that's definitely advisable to purchase is Assault Cuirass. The benefits from this item are obvious for Lycan - it just works perfectly with everything he has. You will receive tons of attack speed, as well as additional armor to you and your minions, which will make a huge difference, especially in the later stages of the game.
