Introduction
Despite the fact that many people don't like it, playing as support can be very interesting, especially if you play against good enemies. Contrary to popular belief, it's very important to play your position properly because if you don't do what needs to be done during the early game, your team will suffer later on. However, this is easier said than done, especially for someone who has no experience in this position. That's why we decided to list a few tips that you might use if you want to play defensively. Let's check them out.
Always make sure to have enough regen
The first very important point that you need to remember is to have enough HP regen. As you can imagine, laning against strong heroes can be extremely difficult and you will most likely have to spend a lot of gold on buying health regen. That's why you should always try to have enough HP regen so that you can sustain yourself and the carry on the lane.
Pull only when it's necessary
One of the most common mistakes that bad support players tend to do is to pull the creep all the time. While this is good because you will get tons of experience and gold, it might not be great for your carry player, especially when he facing enemies that have the ability to dive him under the tower. So, be sure that this is not the case first before you decide to pull because you will ruin his lane.
Don't leach Exp for no reason
Last, but definitely not least, you have to try and avoid leaching experience for absolutely no reason. This can be easier said than done but it's something that you just need to get used to. The last thing you want is to just sit there and be AFK because you don't contribute in any way, shape or form.
