Dota 2: The most picked mid-laners

Introduction

With so many amazing heroes to choose from, deciding which ones are the best is very hard. Generally speaking, this will depend heavily on your personal preferences. After all, not everyone likes the same heroes, which is why your list might be different then ours.

However, to avoid all this, we will use the data from DotaBuff, which is one of the biggest data websites when it comes down to Dota 2.

Let's take a look and see which mid heroes have been picked the most throughout the years.

Sniper

Even though not everyone expected Sniper to be on this list, he is here. In fact, he is the most picked mid hero (if we don't count Pudge), which is very surprising.. or is it? Despite the average laning stage, Sniper is capable of doing tons of damage during the later stages of the game. When he is picked properly (meaning that there are no active counters), this hero is capable of ripping throught the eneny lineups like a knife through butter.

However, it's important to be very careful with him, especially against certain heroes. 

Invoker

The next hero on this list is very close to Sniper in terms of picks and that's Invoker.

We can't say that we're surprised here because Invoker is the most unique Dota 2 hero in existence. He has the biggest amount of abilities in Dota 2, which makes him a blast to play. However, unlike many other heroes. Invoker is also very hard to master, especially when you play against good enemies. That's why it's rare to see him being picked in the lower-MMR brackets.

Windranger

The last hero on our list is the infamous WIndranger. It's important to note that this hero can also be played as an offlaner or a support. However, she used to be the go-to midlaner before, which is why we decided to put her on this list.

If you ever played Dota 2 you will know that this is one of the most annoying heroes to play against. Not only is she extremely hard to kill, but she also does tons of damage, especially when she gets a couple of items.
