Dota 2 - The best Starting items for the Mid lane ⚡⚡⚡ Esports news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

Introduction

Whether you'll agree or not, it's safe to say that the mid lane is one of the most interesting places to be in a Dota 2 game. This is where (in most cases) two players clash in a one versus one matchup, so every single mistake you made can be critical.

Having said that, apart from having skills, one of the most important things that you need to do is buy the right items. In most cases, this is easier said than done because players tend to do silly mistakes and end up losing the lane. That's why we've decided to show you two ways in which you can start the laning stage, both of which has its advantages and disadvantages.

Get as much stats as possible

The first way of starting the mid laning phase is to get as many stats as possible. This is a very common method that many laners go to because it gives them more health, mana, and damage. This means that they will have an easier time securing those last hits while also staying alive and potentially even survive ganks.

There are several ways in which you can achieve this "stats-build", but usually, heroes start with either a Wraith Band, a Null Talisman, or a Bracer, depending on what hero they're playing. While this might work in some cases, we suggest you start with several Iron Branches. You can later combine them into a Magic Wand or use them with tango in order to get twice the amount of HP regen, something that's really important.

Once you secure a few last hits, you can then buy the above-mentioned items in order to get even more stats.

Rush that bottle

The second build that some players tend to go for (mainly those that are lower-rated) is rushing that bottle. That's not really a good idea, even though in some cases, it might work.

Generally speaking, it all depends on the hero that you're playing and the hero that you have to lane against. It's usually better to start with some stats and then farm the bottle but if you're playing Zeus and the only way in which you can last hit is by using your first ability, it's probably a good idea to rush hat bottle so you can actually farm. Then again, it all depends on the game you're in.

Start with a Ring of health

Lastly, this is the "item build" that is not really doing anything, which is why you should avoid it all cost. There is literally no point in rushing this ring because you won't have any stats whatsoever.
