Introduction
The safelane is a place where you carry players go to farm creeps. Apart from them, this lane is also home to the hard support, whose job is to help the carry so that he doesn't die. Having said that, the focus of this article is going to the starting items for a carry player.
Before we list some of the most starting items, it's important to note that there are no such things as the right items. It all depends on the matchup that you have to be in and the heroes that you're going to lane with. With that out of the way, here are some of the best starting items if you have to farm.
Quelling Blade
Unless you are a ranged hero, buying a Quelling Blade is really important because you can use it to farm easier and also even juke your enemies in the nearby trees. The item itself is pretty cheap as well, so there isn't really a reason why you shouldn't buy it.
Stats - Circlet, Branch, Wraith Band, Null Talisman, Bracer
Similar to any other lane, having stats is really important, especially in the beginning. That's why you should try to get as much of it as possible. In most cases, we advise you to start with a circlet and a few branches, after which you can upgrade them to either a Wand or a Talisman/Band/Bracer.
Regen - Tangoes & Salves
Apart from stats, you also need to get a lot of regen, especially whenever you have to lane against a hero that deals a lot of damage. The last thing you want is to be forced to go back to your base and lose on a lot of farm. Don't forget that every second that you spend outside farming is going to have an impact later on in the game.
Boots of Speed
In some cases, you might have to try and get a fast Boots of Speed, especially if you're playing heroes, such as Ursa. However, we do not advise you to start with this item because you will sacrifice a lot of regen and stats. It's better to use your courier and get it after the first couple of creepwaves.
